Have Eagle files; PCB estimates needed
« on: October 18, 2020, 10:08:26 pm »

I need a cost estimate guess (US dollars) -- about five total units -- on the following small PCB:
https://tangentsoft.net/audio/mlxfeed.html
https://tangentsoft.net/audio/misc/mlxfeed-eagle.zip

Thanks!

NOTE:
This PCB is for private use. The orig. project was open source and the orig designer has since passed away.
Tangentsoft orig sold the PCBs (nonprofit) over 10 years ago but is no longer interested in building/selling the project PCBs.

Look, don't want to sound disrespectful but surely you have noticed the ad at the top of this same page for JLCPCB? Which quotes $2 (USD) for qty 5, 2 layer PCBs...of course postage is on top....

Why don't you click on the ad and get a quote from them.  Just put in the approx size, look at specs holes, layers and max min....upload files requested order them.  It'll also give a "Click referral" money to the owner of this forum, Dave.  Win win.

You may need to convert the eagle schematic/board to gerber files.  There are plenty of free gerber generators...http://gerbv.geda-project.org/.

KiCad can import Eagle projects if you need to generate gerbers to submit to any of a number of fabs for quotes, but maybe you aren't familiar with KiCad. I've tried the import on small boards only though.

I use an advanced AdBlocker, so I see no ads.
Eagle used be  "the" pcb/layout software of choice, over a decade ago. Now, I have no idea what's popular.
Converting is not straighfwd, but I did get the proper files generated, Zip'd up, and exported to JLC.
I pretty much kept JLC setting default. The Gerber pcb files looks good.
I was surprised that 5 boards cost only $2.00 (for all five). I chose std shipping, and total cost was $7.36 via Pay Pal.

EDIT:
My order was placed but it is still being reviewed.
YIKES!! I just noticed that while  the TOP view of Gerber view looks correct (holes and traces/pads match), in the BOTTOM view, the holes are 180 degree mirrored.

Converting the files should be straightforward.   It's a built in feature of Eagle.
