Color Pic is Not very clear.
Looks like Brown, Black, Red (1,000 Ohms) with a gold ring, so a 5% Tolerance.
4 Times would be a Yellow, Black, Red. (4,000 Ohms.)
But 4000 is Not a Standard Value. 3,900 is close. (Orange, White, Red)

Your dim fuzzy photo seems to show brown, black and red bars which is 1k (1000 ohms). The gold bar is for a tolerance of 5%. There is no such resistor value of 4k (4000 ohms) but 3.9k (3900 ohms) is very close.

Hi Gary. We Canucks think alike.
I was busy swearing at a caller on a phone call from India who was selling Duck Cleaning again and again and again.

You might find it useful to study/download a chart of the E12 (10% tolerance), E24 (5%), E96 (1%) and E192 (0.5%) number series, as these are used for standard part values with the tolerances indicated parenthetically.

Here is the simplest solution using what you have on hand.

Yes those are 1000 Ohm resistors, and 4000 Ohms isn't standard.
Since these are 5% tolerance, a 3900 Ohm resistor should suffice for replacement.
Still, it depends on what you are doing. If those resistors have been selected then you may want to select their replacement as well. If your 3900 Ohm substitute turns out to be a bit too low, then increase it by adding a small series resistance. However it seems you want to reduce the number of parts so you could get a batch of 3900 Ohm units and select from those.

Don't forget to take power dissipation into account.
if those 1k are in parallel and you replace them with only one, you might need a resistor that can handle up to four times as much power.

You would need 23 Volts or so across a 1000 Ohm resistor to dissipate one-half Watt.
