A question about using a BM 867 Brymen.
« on: January 06, 2018, 11:20:09 pm »
I just bought a Brymen 867 multi meter and have read the instructions. I see no where in there that it explains anything about how to compensate for the resistance of the leads. Does it need to be done and if so...........................How do you do it. I'm hoping someone here has one and can help me out...........Thanks

It only matters when measuring low resistances less than about 10 ohms. You just hold the leads together and press the \$\Delta\$ button to null out the offset before taking the measurement.

They are a great meter to use, I use mine almost daily and still can't believe how much features you get for the £££ or $$$   :-+

You'll enjoy using it!   :)

Thanks for the help. It seems to be a very well made piece of equipment. I have only just started to use it so time will tell. It's nice to find a board where people from other countries hang out. That way you have a chance to get an answer 24/7.

Yes it's a well made unit for sure! It hangs with my Fluke 177 all day long no sweat at all!
Even when I make mistakes probing things I shouldn't or lose concentration for a few seconds and silly things like that.  It matches the Fluke step for step on accuracy easily and gives more resolution when needed too. I don't need these extra things only doing hobby stuff but it is nice to see the extra digits showing you exactly what's happening where the Fluke just more gets to the point. It's nice to have the luxury too rather than a meter that goes wanting.

Enjoy!  :)
