Lengthening hot air hose?
« on: September 06, 2023, 06:32:13 pm »
Anyone done it? My station is 2703A+. With microscope I need to hold it with my left hand and blow from the left, and work with scizors with my right hand. Station is on the right. Put it on the left? Then I'd get situation where I'd need to lengthen solder iron wire so I can work with my right hand.

Where would I get the hose? I looked all over ali, nothing there.

Not me, but this YouTuber MendItMark did:

To the point for your question at timestamp 10:08.
He's capable of repairing all sorts of stuff.

His desolderingstation is quite a beast too.

Why not use paste?  I only use paste with my hot air.

Much simpler to lengthen the iron's cable since it uses a standard connector you can just buy a mating pair of and terminate onto a suitable cable or wire bundle.
