Two knobs for a Dick Smith Oscilloscope Q-1280
« on: October 07, 2024, 03:31:20 am »
Hi all. Would anyone know or have two knobs for a Dick Smith Oscilloscope as shown in the photos. The shaft is 5.96mm slotted, the rest of the photos are self explanatory.
Thanks.
Hammer.

I think you are going to have to settle on something functional as opposed to finding a source for an identical knob.

What you want to search for is a knob for a 6mm shaft with the style "fluted", "splined" or "puish on".

If you are not too fussy it seems Jaycar have a few options.

If you don't like any of the options out there then there is always 3D printing.  I have not printed one before but people are 3D printing knobs for a splined shaft:

Its only got two of the big knobs: https://www.radiomuseum.org/r/dicksmithe_65mhz_single_channel_oscilloscope_q_1280.html
so anything off-the-shelf of a similar style and diameter for a splined shaft, with a recessed base in black plastic with a white line would be fine.
