What's this connector called?
« on: November 13, 2018, 12:52:05 pm »
So what's this 3-pin connector called exactly? It's used often for laptop fans. The PC version often has 4 pins.

I think it might be called a crowtail connector, but there is a slight detail (inward bending hook) in aforementioned one that makes me doubt it.

I'll be needing one in a DIY project (laptop fan tester).

EDIT: yes, I've named the genders wrong in the photo..

I think it’s a Molex connector since the stationary fan connectors are Molex 2510 if I’m not mistaken.
Mind posting a picture?

Lol I've been trying to post it for 5 minutes now. I gave up on the [img] tag and uploaded an attachment.

I think you're right. Looks exactly right on Google images.

However I'm also getting similar results with JST connectors

I've found this image which helps. I'm dealing with a Molex picoblade indeed.

Edit: They also call it JST 1.25mm (pitch)
