Alternative parts for Dave's PSU
« on: January 16, 2012, 09:02:17 pm »
Hi
I can't seem to get hold of the following parts in the uk. I can only order from us distributors which incur pricey delivery costs.
Prefably dip alternatives as well so I don't need a breakout.

NJM14558D
MAX4238ASA+

Does anyone have any alternative part numbers I can try?

The NMJ14558 won't work anyway, it's not a ground sensing op-amp.
I should check this stuff instead of relying on memory.
An LM358 will work, but with a small offset.

For the MAX4258A, the 4239 or any other very low offset chopper amp.

Dave.

MC4558 and NJM14558D.
they both have 4558 in them so I can assume they're similar right?  Is this a standard or can it be that they're totally different?
Am asking so if I ever come accross unavilible parts instead of asking for alternative like a newbie  I can help myself

They are similar, but not identical. Always check the datasheet for the specs you are interested in.

Hi
Sorry for reviving an old thread. I thought I'd ordered the LM354 but it's not on the receipt. I did a quick look at similar op amps, would the TLC272IP be appropriate? According to the info rs has listed it's the same as the tlc272bcp except it has a 7mv max offset instead of 2mv.

You haven't seen my latest video?  I now use a TLC272.
