what is this part called

I have this "rotary" selector switch thing. From what I gather is you get some sort of binary output for whatever number it's on I just don't know what it's called or who made it. Thanks

Pushwheel or thumbwheel switch.
They make them with decimal or binary coded outputs on the back, depending on what you want to hook up.
