Hello guys! I just picked up a kit and have a lovely PIC16F627 in it to program. I have no idea where to start, and Google turns up more gibberish than I can understand! The kit came with absolutely no documentation, and I had to solder things in by one overhead picture of the stupid thing! Needless to say it works, but where to go for beginner programming lessons? I know a bit of things on Arduino, but no real coding. Thanks! Also, if you see this Dave, UNBLOCK ME ON YOUTUBE! (please?) I don't know what I did, but I can't comment anywhere!

A noob and "no documentation" is a bad combination
I would suggest buy a Pickit2 or Pickit3
http://www.microchip.com/pickit3
Thank you for all of the information! I will be getting the kit in a while after returning the dogey kit I got! It only works on legacy serial ports, not adapters and as such was useless!

I second the recommendation for WinPicProg...
(People underestimate how important the USB port on Arduino was. Or the bootloader in general.)
Another suggestion: USB Bit Whacker.
