JLCPCB ordering options
« on: October 30, 2022, 03:18:40 pm »
Hi

I've uploaded my Gerbers from EASYEDA straight to JLCPCB and they offer two prices, one for 'PCB' and another which includes the default on 'PCB Assembly' option.  Looking at the photos for the latter option, they still just look like the bare PCBs that I want.  I've not specified any component purchases.  They then include the setup fee and the cost of a stencil for this.

I just want the PCBs.

What am I missing here please ?

Also, without the PCB Assembly option, the PCB cost is actually $0 plus shipping because of a monthly $8 discount.  Is this for real ?

Thanks.

JLCPCB will assemble your board using their large library of components.  This is quite inexpensive (relatively) but you need to design your circuit using components they stock.

But you don't want them to do the assembly so just go for the PCB option.  Click on one of the quote buttons and choose your fab options.

And yes, their discounts are for real.  Here in the USA I usually pay way more for JLCPCB shipping than for the boards.  I use the cheapest shipping option when I'm not in a hurry.  I wish it weren't the case that my local fab houses didn't have to charge about 20x the JLCPCB price, but that's the way it is.  JLCPCB quality has been excellent for my needs -- I've had them make quite a few 2-layer and 4-layer board designs.
We'll search out every place a sick, twisted, solitary misfit might run to! -- I'll start with Radio Shack.

Thanks for the reply.

PCBs now ordered.

I've used them before and was very pleased with the goods.
