Understanding a drawing for making a foot print
« on: October 13, 2022, 03:14:11 am »
Trying to use a TYPE-C-31-M-12 USB C Connector for a USB2.0 application, power and data.

In the datasheet, there is this dimension, labeled "4-1.01". Based on scale and other clues, I take this to mean the tab is 1.01mm tall.
But what is the "4-" about? What does "4-1.01" mean?

It's a multiplicity -- the number of things having that dimension.

"2-1.10" -- there are 2 tabs having width 1.10

"4-1.01" -- there are 4 tabs having height 1.01

"16-0.20+/-0.05" -- there are 16 pins having width 0.20 +/- 0.05.

Ok, that makes sense. Thank you for the explanation!
