Unknown Component
« on: May 05, 2018, 05:40:17 pm »
Hello,
does anyone knows what component is this at elow images? I measured on capacitor range with the multimeter and shows O.L. and  I measured on resistor range with the multimeter and shows approximately 6,7ohm. The colors on it are:

brown
white (on top)
red (on top)
gold

Inductor is a better fit actually.[emoji28]

Thanks a lot for the reply,
I found the below sites which shows how is the colour code of the inductors.

Try warming it up while measuring the resistance, it may be a thermistor. 6.7 Ohms seems like too much for a tiny inductor to me.

You could be right about it being a thermistor, but wouldn't say a series resistance of 6.7Ω is unreasonable. It depends on the the value. The colour code suggests 1.9mH, which isn't a standard value. If it is 1.9mH, then I'd say a series resistance of 6.7Ω seems reasonable, perhaps even a little on the low side, going from data sheets of similar sized inductors.
