On delay timer using NE555 timer IC
« on: December 17, 2022, 06:10:21 pm »
Hi,

I'm trying to make an on delay timer with a NE555 timer IC. I attached the schematic. I can't seem to get it to work. The output stays low 0.000 volts when input 7.00 volts is turned on. Is the schematic good? Many thanks in advance

It should work. The output will be low on power on and go high after a delay. A diode in reverse parallel with the resistor will speed up the discharging of the capacitor, when the power is removed.

Many thanks zero999. I'll try again

Yes it works. The pins of the new NE555 timer had a bit of an oxidized layer on them i think. Scraped them with a knife and now everything works perfect. Many thanks again zero999
