When I need high quality caps, I don't go strictly by brand. I filter for the brands I am willing to trust (UCC/Nippon, Nichicon, Panasonic, sometimes CDE, sometimes Vishay, sometimes EPCOS), then choose among them, looking more at rated temperature and lifespan than brand. Depending on capacitance and voltage rating, I usually end up with about 50% Nichicon, 30% UCC and 20% Pana. Pay attention to impedance/ESR (anything in a DC-DC converter should have low impedance and high-rated ripple current, and remember that low impedance is not
always preferable - many analog circuits, sometimes including linear regulators, are designed to assume that the electrolytics will have relatively high ESR).
