Gloves
« on: March 23, 2019, 07:54:52 pm »
Hi.
Recently I have been doing some work that is hard on my hands (cuts, scratches, etc…) and I don't like the idea of getting flux, residues or alcohol directly on them.

Do you recommend any specific type or brand of gloves to work on a bench?

Cheers

For protecting against liquids any cheap throwaway vinyl/nitril gloves and for more mechanical work Hase Padua Aqua.

Nitrile rubber is inherently static dissipative, so all nitrile gloves are ESD. They differ in color (blue or black), and whether or not they are dusted with talc ("powder-free" or not). Some seem to be a little thicker than others.

I have tried a couple of different brands.  I have settled on Grease Monkey talc free nitrile gloves from the local big box home improvement store.  The extra large size is actually extra large and fit my hands the best of what I have tried so far.  I have also worn them changing brakes and they hold up well.  Unfortunately, I don't know if they are available to you.
