EAGLE Solder Mask Question
« on: November 01, 2012, 01:10:11 pm »
Hello everyone,

I had a board design sent to board house.  I used the free Eagle software to create it with.

Everything checked out except the board house said there might be a problem with the solder mask layer covering thru holes.

I have a 5 pin header that i took directly from the eagle library (see pics).  Is this an issue or a buggy part in Eagle?   I've done a board before with this house (pcbwing) and used exactly the same part with no issue before.  The wall of the hole was covered in solder mask which is kind of desirable.

The concern is would the hole possibly be filled with solder?  Anyone else has had this problem?

Thanks!

Jeff

I have run into this too. Many parts in Eagle have this problem. Just enable all layers before you run DRC, you will see.

I personally move these outlines to documentation layer so they don't show on solder mask...
