Differential Oscilloscope Probe Schematics? 💕
« on: December 20, 2023, 06:56:24 pm »
Hello all, I've been trying to find schematics for essentially *any* differential oscilloscope probe schematic (above 50MHz, preferably 100MHz or greater) from a reputable OEM (Sapphire, Lecroy, MicSig, Rigol, etc.) so that I can get the PCB manufactured to DIY the probe myself. I'm not interested in purchasing one of the low-cost ($100-$200) differential probes with only a 10-50MHz bandwidth from Hantek/similar.

I understand that it won't be as "safe" (I won't be using it above 100V) and that it won't be entirely linear across the frequency range, however I think it would be a fun project. My problem is that I'm having difficulty actually finding any of these schematics. Can anyone help with that?

Thanks 💕

We have several of the Micsig 100MHz probes and a few of them have developed a DC offset.  Still usable but not right.

David Jones did a teardown and partial schematic of that but of course, the ones I have are slightly different.

Was trying to add a cancelling DC offset but the schematic and PCB was different enough that I couldn't quite understand what they had done.

Always interested in this kind of stuff.

Happy Christmas !
