EDIT STARTS HERE....
THIS IS A POST I PUT UP A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO.
I WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE RESPONSE I GOT FROM SEVERAL CONTRIBUTORS.
SUGGESTING
Or buy a 3G/4G modem and plug it in a RPi board, then configure the RPi as a 3G/4G to WiFi bridge and use it to provide WIFi connection to your phone. Set IPTABLES properly to block unintended connections.
OR
OK, so the solution is this:
You take the Android junk, and throw it to the trash can, where all android junk belongs.
You buy a windows phone. All your problems are gone.
THESE ARE NOT HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS AND ONLY GOES TO SHOW THE LEVEL OF MENTALITY OF SOME PEOPLE THAT THINK THEY ARE INTELLEGENT.
ORIGINAL POST STARTS HERE...
Good morning all,
A bit of a change from my usual posts.
I have had a problem for about a year and it's bugging me.
I use my phone as a PHONE when I am out of the house. Data turned off at all times.
My car has Bluetooth Phone connection.
My old phone (A SONY EXPERIA) was able to dial out OK.
By pressing the phone button on the steering wheel and waiting for the instruction "SPEAK NOW"
I would say something like "CALL HOME".
After a couple of seconds the dial tone could be heard through the radio speakers.
The call would be answered and I would be able to talk.
That's the way it should be.
That was until I replaced the phone with a SAMSUNG GALAXY CORE PRIME.
I am still able to receive calls but to make a call I have to make the call manually, either by dialing or using speed dial.
I either have to pull over or get a passenger to dial the phone for me.
If I press the button on the steering wheel I get the message "DATA NOT ACTIVE" or something like that
I broke the phone in and accident and had to replace it.
The new phone is a ZTE Blade Q lux Telstra special. Now UNLOCKED.
The new phone also has the same problem..
I have even tried my daughters SAMSUNG S5 I think it is. That also didn't work.
Why would a phone need to have data turned on to use Bluetooth in the car.
BTW. The old SONY EXPERIA still works fine in the car.
I have spoken to three SO CALLED Mobile / Cell Phone specialists in three shops, and they all say that the Bluetooth system in the car is faulty.
They have no explanation when I tell them the the SONY still works fine.
Has anyone else had this problem.
I await any help I can get
BILL.
