Video sender PA

Hi Guys
I was hoping for some tips with regard to a simple VHF video sender PA part.
There are schematics out there, but I'm starting with an already working universal modulator.

The first I've tried is a 2N3904.
It appears the RF from the modulator cannot switch the transistor.
My scope backlight shat itself last night, so I can't even look at it.

I only want to use a low power amplifier for a range of a few meters.

Edit, Changing the 2N3904 to 2N2222, this is the first time I’ve got a signal out of the antenna end.
I still have to touch the antenna to it or be very close though. Far from a transmitter.
