A user manual is just going to show you what the feature is and its specifications - and how to find in on multi-level menu setups.

What it won't show you is where you would use it and why.  These are rather important for absolute newbies

I agree with your idea about the manual, that's almost every brands scope will do. But on the other hand, if you write where you would use it and why, the manual may would be really thick. So I think that's the reason why mostly google is more usuful than manual.

In oscilloscope 'auto' usually is for auto trigger.

I found out update one chapter every day is impossibe for me, sorry for all, I'm old and not energic anymore. The tablet oscilloscope is really new and innovative for me. So I will try hard to finish my content, but not update per day. I hope I can helped others. It's happy to see all of your comments here.

I wonder why the Auto configuration button is so much larger and more prominent than the Auto sweep mode ("auto trigger") setting button then.

Chapter 4 Probe Compensation Calibration

The normal probe compensation calibration outputs a standard square wave signal. As below shows:


The following two cases means compensation probe is not correct, you will need to use the "adjustment bar" to adjust the compensation capacitor on the probe.


Overcompensation


Undercompensation

Using the Philips head screwdriver to insert the hole near the BNC top, turn the probe compensation adjustment screw until the square wave appears to be free of distortion.


The probe compensation capacitor is on the BNC port, there is also other probes set it at another port, as below figure shows:


Check the probe when you
1. use the oscilloscope first time
2. use a new probe
3. no use oscilloscope for a long time.
