PSC Motor thin wire

Why is the purple wire thinner than all the others?
This is a blower motor from an HVAC.

Nevermind,
Even though the purple wire is less than half the size of the other wires,
It is actually a higher AWG than the other wires, must have much thinner insulation.

Still doesn't make sense to have less insulation, (Both legs are 120v here) but whatever...
