Hello,
Currently I don't have a soldering iron at home, and basically use the tools from the lab at which I worked. There we have several expensive Weller soldering irons, and I'm used to those soldering irons. But since I'm doing more stuff at home lately I don't want to travel for simple jobs to the lab. Thus I want to buy a new soldering iron.
I looked at several topics and at first wanted to buy a Hakko FX-888D, but because of the easier tip switching I also thought about buying a Hakko FX-951. Eventually I decided to go for the Hakko FX-951 with active tips, but then I noticed that the EU versions are way more expensive and hard to get. I have found a genuine version for around ~400 euro's with a single tip, without a metal tip cleaner.
But then I started to look at the new Weller WT series and noticed that those are similar in price, and more available in Europe. I noticed an interesting set, the WT1010, which includes everything except a tip(or is the tip also included?). But the problem is that I couldn't find any reviews about it, and also don't know what to buy if I want to use the easy tip changing functionalities of the WTP-90.
So my questions are as following:
- Are there some people here using the WT-1010, or similar systems which could give a short review?
- Are there other solutions in the same price range, which give better or similar results?
- What do I need to buy in order to quickly change the tips of the WTP-90? (Barrel T0058765758 + XNT Screw M4 T0054487999 + Measuring tip K1131?) Or is this not available?
Greetings,
Freek
