Need help with SEPIC converter
« on: February 03, 2018, 04:34:43 pm »
I'm currently building a SEPIC dc-dc converter. I have laid out the components on LTSpice and I'm having trouble getting the results i want.
Requirements :
5V input
1.245V - 12V output

Also, how do i manage the current? As i have a prototype built, my LT1370 chip seems to be getting quite hot.

Grounding /SHDN would seem to be a non-starter...

Those capacitors in series will generate a singular matrix error.  Use a single one, or set RSHUNT = 1e8 or less, or put a resistor across one or both capacitors.

Can also add a coupling statement, "K1 L1 L2 0.98" and use a coupled inductor part.

Thanks for the reply. I've managed to get it the SPICE model working by removing the ground to the S/S pin.

In my prototype however, i'm not getting any output at all. My inductor L1(Connected to Vin and Vsw) seems to be getting 18V across it. Any idea what could be the issue?
