A good book to learn about advanced electronics and arduino
« on: September 27, 2017, 03:42:00 am »
I want to learn aboit electronics, right now I have the rudimentary knowledge, enough to make basic circuits and things (with only passive components and arduino) but I would like to extend that further. Can someone recommend a book for me learn about electronics and circuits and how to build circuits and so on? Also, a book to learn about how to properly code with Arduino, as I am not the best at coding.

Thanks!

There are 1,650,000 hits at Google for "Arduino Programming" and there are dozens of books at Amazon.  Some of the books are free for Kindle Unlimited and cheap for regular Kindle.  I don't prefer Kindle books for textbooks as it isn't always easy to get to section 5.1.

Books will come at the Arduino from different directions depending on what the author is doing.  Pick a book that seems to line up with what you want to do (Audio, Robotics, Displays, <whatever>).  Or refine the Google search.  Or check for used books on Alibris.com

"Advanced" electronics, as EEs would think of it, might be a little over the top but if you decide on a project, there are articles all over the Internet.

See if there is anything at Adafruit or Sparkfun that grabs your attention.

There is always the Arduino web site:  https://www.arduino.cc/

I found an interesting arduiino course on udemy for $11 (Arduino Fundamentals by hackster.io...it was on sale....always best to buy their classes on sale)...the instructor (who you may have seen in sparkfun videos) very clearly leads you step by step from simple stuff up to much more advanced projects.   Also most of it can be done in tinkercad (an online design website by autocad).    This is working for me as I prefer to learn this way (watch and do) verses a book.
