You'd be surprised how many gaming enthusiast are out there who will purchase one once it comes to their attention.

At that point its better just to get a customized desktop. For the price you can get a desktop thats loaded with much more, or pay less and get the same specs.

And yes, there are alot of hardcore gamers out there. In fact, there are so many, they are one of the primary things that drive the high end pc market. They wouldnt push to make a computer like that unless they knew alot of people would buy it. I wouldnt bet much against the the fact that were it not for gamers, high end computers would not be nearly as far along as we have come.

The Acer is still portable though it weighs "a ton". But you are right, there's a fine line between being sane and insane when it comes to gaming and portability.

For pretty much any price level laptop one could have at least twice as good desktop gaming rig for the same money. That's the price we have to pay for size, efficiency and portability.

That's alot of cash for a Laptop, especially one that weighs so much and doesn't even come with a holographic heads up display with a built in fusion power core with a Quantum processor.

Is it really the heaviest EVER? The Toshiba T5200 weighed in at just shy of 19 lbs; pretty much the same.
The Dolch NotePAC with its expansion pod is up there, too.

For context, both the Mac Portable (which literally used a sealed lead acid battery, desktop floppy and hard drives, etc.) as well as the original 1984 desktop Mac 128K each weighed just 17lbs.

2x 350W powersupplies, that must be a hell of a battery if there actually is one.
How much does this puppy weigh? At work we have HP workstation laptops and I think they are quite heavy with 4,3kg.
