edge Connector for Amiga A600 Chipram expansion
« on: October 01, 2016, 05:50:08 pm »
Greetings,

I attempting to make a 1Megabyte ram expansion for my Amiga 600. Based off the work of Elgen http://elgensrepairs.blogspot.dk/2012/10/homemade-1mb-chip-ram-expansion-for.html
However i would like it to be based on a PCB, rather than the way its done here. however i have a hard time finding a 40 pin, 2 row connector, 1.27 mm pitch. I could use the PCI adapter that Elgen uses, but im concerned with how well it will be secured when edge mounted.
Here is an official product that uses an edge connector.
http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1151

I have searched both Mouser and Digikey, but i have not been able to get any results that looks useful.

Does anyone have any idea, on what the part number of the connector  is need is?

Thank you Ovnr,

I will have a look at it,

I found this alternative that is cheaper. After realizing that i was looking for a 80 pin not a 40 pin connector :)http://www.mouser.dk/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=TX24-80R-LT-H1Evirtualkey65610000virtualkey656-TX24-80R-LT-H1E

That's a jawsum idea, Lasse! };-P
My attempt was mostly made as a proof-of-concept.
If you're making a PCB layout, would you then open-source it so everybody would be able to do their own?
Love and Best of Luck with the project.
